Upper School Program

As students enter our Upper School, which includes grades 9-12, they will be met with an exciting and challenging academic program that is meant to prepare them for a future full of endless possibilities.

Our Curriculum

A range of core college preparatory courses in the areas of history, literature, writing, math, and science is an integral part of our academic environment. Students will also be able to choose from a host of dynamic elective courses designed to engage and inspire. These courses include, but are not limited to, Photography, Doctors in Training, American Sign Language, Culinary Arts, Marine Biology, Financial Literacy, Sculpture, and Music Production. Upper schoolers will also have the opportunity to earn both high school and college credit through our Dual Enrollment program. Class sizes are small and will never exceed 10 students, giving all upper schoolers the ability to form strong, supportive, and meaningful relationships with their peers, as well as the faculty. Emphasis in all classes will be placed on helping students self-advocate, manage their workload, plan for long-term assignments, and effectively prepare for upcoming assessments. As these skills continue to emerge, students develop a sense of independence and confidence in their own learning process.

Our Students

Upper Schoolers are taught to be thoughtful, flexible, and analytical thinkers who learn how to persevere when confronted with challenges. They evaluate situations with an open mind while always respecting the perspective of others. In order to better understand themselves, students are involved in setting personal goals and evaluating their progress.

Given the intimacy and connectedness of our environment here at Windham Woods, we have an incredible sense of community. Upper Schoolers are a valued part of our community as they become leaders and role models for the younger students in Elementary and Middle School. These leadership skills help our students build the confidence needed to embrace a world filled with many exciting opportunities.
